Surgical procedure

Surgical procedure : The patient was explored with chevron incision and after mobilization of this large mass and ligation of main vessels, extracted from the abdomen. Mean weight of this mass was 12 kg.

Case description : The patient is an 29 afganian year old woman presented with sever abdominal pain and some episodes of nausea and vomiting. She had 10 kg weight loss in a past year ago. Past medical and drug hisory were unremarkable. Abdominal examination revealed huge palpable mass in the right and middle part of the abdomen.
Lab test: Hb: 10.1 - Cr: 1.2 - AST: 96 - ALT: 75 - ALP: 168 - Ca: 12.2 - ESR: 48 –
Ultrasonography of abdomino pelvic demonsterated the 22 * 20 cm mass in the retroperitoneum near the right kidney with compresive effect on liver and kidney.
CT SCAN : A huge retroperitoneal mass with cystic and calcified areas in the right side of the abdomen.
Chest X-ray : This image revealed no pathologic component and metastases.
Surgical procedure : The patient was explored with chevron incision and after mobilization of this large mass and ligation of main vessels, extracted from the abdomen. Mean weight of this mass was 12 kg.
Final pathology : These slides of the specimen were compatible with chromophobe renal cell carcinoma.
