Knowing more of what type of activities and products that cause breakage to your locks, is the first step to protect and maintain your hair. Weather, daily hair activities, chemical treatments, and abuse are some of the most common damage causing factors.

2. Know Your Hair Type

3. Pacify the Frizz With Natural Coconut Oil

• a) Beat a half cup of egg with Vitamin E and 3/4 cup of water. The egg mixture must be appropriate for your hair type.
• b) Apply onto damp, clean hair.
• c) Leave on hair for 20 minutes.
• d) Wash off with cold water. This would prevent the egg from being cooked.
• e) Shampoo, rinse and dry. An egg and yolk treatment can be applied only once a month, while the egg white mixture treatment can be applied every two weeks.

5. Eliminate Excess Shampoo With Baking Soda
It must be noted that shampoo and hair styling products leave residue that builds up on your scalp over time. Baking soda can remove most any acidic material on the hair and scalp.
• a) Create a paste by mixing one to two tablespoons of baking soda with a small quantity of water.
• b) Massage onto hair and leave for 15 minutes.
• c) Rinse, shampoo, rinse, and dry. This hair treatment can be used every two weeks.

6. Rehydrate Your Hair
With sun overexposure, excessive use of hair equipment that utilizes heat, or use of hard and chlorinated water, your hair will dry up faster and become lifeless, before you know it. Thanks to honey, nature's sweetener, you can have an immediate and inexpensive method to restore and lock in moisture.
• a) Rub 1/2 cup of honey onto damp and clean hair.
• b) Allow to stay for 20 minutes, before rinsing with lukewarm water. To apply the mixture easily, honey can be mixed with one to two tablespoons of olive oil. For heavily damaged hair, honey can be mixed with avocado or raw egg yolk, both are rich in protein. This will aid the replenishment of keratin in the hair. This mixture can be used once a month.

7. Rejuvenate Dull Hair With Dairy Products
Dirt caused by air pollution and residue left by hair styling products are easily accumulated on the scalp and hair, causing your locks to become dry and lifeless. However, this can be immediately remedied by dairy products. A good example would be plain yogurt. The lactic acid in the yogurt can help eliminate dirt and residue.
• a) Apply yogurt on scalp and hair and leave for 20 minutes.
• b) Rinse first with lukewarm water, followed by cold water.
• c) Shampoo, rinse, and dry thoroughly.

8. Lock in Moisture
After shampooing, you must rinse your hair with cold water. This can help retain moisture, making your hair shinier.

9. Ensure to Dry Hair Before Going Out
Ultraviolet rays cause more damage to your hair when it is wet. To dry your hair faster, you can use a microfiber towel to wrap around your hair. This method will allow your hair to dry naturally and prevent frizzes from popping out anywhere, thus making your hair more manageable.

10. Drink Plenty of Liquids and Maintain a Healthy Diet
Aside from the fact that drinking lots of liquid and eating the right kind of food will keep you rejuvenated and healthy, this strategy will also allow your hair to get all the nutrients it needs for healthy growth.
